The Maacama Creek Watershed Assessment
reviews monitoring information including water quality and temperature developed for the Maacama Creek watershed over the 1999 to 2004 period. The assessment also evaluates erosion and sources of fine sediment in the watershed, the current and historic condition of creek channels, the historic and current condition of watershed vegetation and clearing, the extent of riparian forest, and land uses.
Russian River Creek Stewardship Monitoring and Assessment Summary Report 1998-2004.
The Sotoyome Resource Conservation District in partnership with Laurel Marcus and Associates and Dennis Jackson began a creek stewardship program for tributary streams in the Russian River watershed in 1998. To date, six reports have summarized the program methods and protocols, watershed assessments, monitoring results and projects.
Sotoyome RCD is participating in a cooperative effort to
restore and enhance salmonid habitat
in the Russian River. These efforts are being spearheaded by the Salmonid Coalition, whose mission is to: ". . . protect and enhance existing habitat, and to restore historic habitat to promote the recovery and maintenance of Salmonid fish populations in the Alexander, Dry Creek, and Knights Valleys of the Russian River Watershed . . ."
