Sotoyome Resource Conservation District
The Mission of the Sotoyome Resource Conservation District is to provide technical, financial, and educational support to landowners in rural and urban communities to help sustain agriculture, the economy and the environment.
How We Can Help
The Sotoyome Resource Conservation District (SRCD) offers a variety of services tailored to address local natural resource issues while balancing the environmental and economic needs of our community.
Our local partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) includes assistance to farmers, ranchers, and others that own, operate, live or make land-use decisions on farms, ranches, and other private properties in Sonoma County.
In addition, we support local units of government, organizations, watershed and landowner groups including road and homeowner associations, educators, students, private sector natural resource professionals and contractors, and the general tax-paying public. Services include:
- Natural resource management advice
- General resource conservation information
- Workshops and hands-on trainings
- Cost-share funding
- Project permitting assistance
- Specific data and/or guidance for conservation projects

How You Can Help
Donate
Only 4% of our annual budget comes from local county tax, with the rest coming from competitive sought grants and donations. Making a tax deductible donation to the RCD helps us to continue serving the community and conserving natural resources. See our
Donations page for more information.
Implement a conservation or restoration project on your property
The Sotoyome RCD has been helping landowners and land mangers implement projects on private and public lands for over 60 years. Visit our
Programs
section to find out what opportunities are available. If you don't see a project that fits your situation, feel free to
contact us
to see how we can help.
Attend a meeting
An integral part of protecting our county's natural resources is understanding and participating in the processes that drive our community's future. Why not attend an
RCD Board of Directors meeting,
a City Council or
County Board of Supervisors meeting, a watershed meeting, a local neighborhood meeting or another meeting of interest to you? It's one of the great ways to meet your neighbors and to get involved.
